Redwood Electric lesson
Match generator ads to crew time: a Redwood lesson
Check replies, estimates and crew hours before asking for more leads. Use a simple weekly capacity check.
Before changing generator ad spend, check three queues. Which leads need a reply? Which visits still need a quote? Which sold jobs need crew time? Fix the queue that is stuck.
Tyler Polanco at Redwood Electric describes pausing campaigns while the team caught up. That is a case lesson, not a pause rule for every busy firm.

What the client described
Tyler describes a small electrical team. He says campaigns were paused at times so the business could catch up. He also values project answers that helped him prepare for a sales call.
His account shows a workload issue. It does not mean pausing is the right move for every busy dealer. The cause may be a gap in replies, sales cover or crew time.
Find the real limit
List the leads waiting for a reply. Then list visits waiting for a quote and sold jobs waiting for crew time. These are three different queues.
Name the person who owns each queue. A full install schedule may call for honest future dates. A pile of unanswered leads may need better cover before more ad spend.
Agree a change rule
Set a review point with the person who manages your ads. Use facts your team can see, such as unworked leads and available estimate slots. Do not pick a budget just from a good day.
If you slow or pause a campaign, record why and when you will review it. Keep working the leads already received. Changing the ad pace does not cancel promises to homeowners.
Use a weekly capacity check
Avoid blaming lead quality for every backlog. Read the records first. If the job details are missing, improve the form. If sales needs help, fix that handoff. Add demand when the team can handle the next step.
- Count leads still waiting for first contact.
- Check free estimate slots.
- Check quotes waiting to be sent.
- Check sold work and crew hours.
- Agree the next ad pace with the owner.
- Set a date to review the change.
Choose the action for the queue
A full install book and a missed-call problem need different fixes. Write the reason for a change. Have sales, the crew lead and the ad owner review it.
If spend changes, keep the old leads and promises visible. Review the same facts before raising the pace again. A new week alone does not mean the gap is fixed.
