Explain the scope behind the price
Explain what changes a generator install price
Help homeowners understand why a unit price is not a full install quote. Use checked scope items and a clear next step instead of a universal price.
A generator cost page should explain the whole job. State what the price covers and what still needs a site check. The unit price alone is not a full quote.
Use your own checked scope and terms. Help a homeowner compare the work before comparing two totals.

Separate the unit from the job
Explain what your quote covers. The unit is one item. Your firm may also need to plan site work, labor and work handled by other trades.
Keep each item tied to the actual service you offer. Do not make every possible cost sound like a charge on every job.
A buyer should leave knowing why you need more facts. They should not feel that the page promised one price and the office gave another.
Show the questions that change scope
Ask your estimator which site facts can change the plan. Use those as plain questions. Leave design choices and technical checks to the right people.
- What does the homeowner want the system to support?
- What equipment is already at the property?
- What does the team need to check on site?
- Which parts of the work are in our quote?
- Which parts need a separate check or quote?
Use a quote-reading example
You can teach a buyer to read scope without publishing made-up prices. Keep the example clearly separate from a real offer.
End with the next real check
Say how your team prepares an estimate. Explain whether the first step is a call, a photo review or a site visit. Use only the path you can provide.
If you publish a range, have the owner check its date, area and scope. Explain the limits beside it. Leave it out if you do not have a sound basis.
Review this page when your quote terms change. Clear old terms from images, downloads and forms as well as the main text.
Use three scope labels in the example
Mark each line included, not included or still to check. A blank line can look like a task in the price. Make the gap clear.
If another firm does part of the job, name who arranges it. Show which quote covers it. Do not add a sample price just to fill the page.
Watch and learn
Explain what the price includes
Watch a scope comparison that asks about the equipment, site work and fuel work. Use facts you can check, not claims about a rival.
