Explain generator quote options in plain words
Compare real differences in generator quote options. Use a scope card so the homeowner can see what each choice includes.
Compare generator quote options by the same rows: included work, exclusions, equipment, open site checks, support and full quoted price. Then explain which checked need each option serves.
Do not use price alone to explain the choice. Keep sizing and site decisions with the qualified person who checked the job.

Start with the same job need
Write down what the homeowner wants to power and why. Mark which needs were checked on site. Do not compare two options built for different goals without saying so.
Ask the buyer to confirm the main goal. A choice based on a wrong need can cause more doubt when the quote arrives.
Show what is different
Use the same row names for each option. Keep shared work in the same place. Then highlight the few things that change.
Use checked product facts and the actual quote. Do not invent savings, run time or noise claims. If you need a maker’s answer, leave the item open until it is checked.
- Work included.
- Work not included.
- Equipment in the quote.
- Site work still to check.
- Service or support included.
- Total quoted price for that scope.
Explain the trade in plain words
Tell the buyer what each change means for their stated need. Avoid labels that shame them into the high price. Do not add a poor-fit package just to make another one look cheap.
A real option should be one you would stand behind for the stated job. Give your view and explain the reason.
Check that the price gap covers the same work
A cheaper quote may leave out work the other quote includes. First mark that difference. Do not treat an unknown item as either included or free.
This method also applies when both options are yours. If one includes later service, show that scope and term clearly. Do not call it the best value unless you can explain why it fits this buyer’s needs.
Save the choice and open question
Ask which difference matters most to the buyer. Note their words and any fact they still need. Do not treat silence as agreement.
When they choose, save the exact quote version. Send any changed scope through the normal job review. The install team should receive the same work the buyer agreed to, with no guesses added.

Make the options easy to compare
This example names what is included, what is not and what still needs a check. Give each option a real difference in scope.
