Hand a sold generator job to the install team

Pass the agreed scope and open checks to the install team. Keep accepted work, readiness and the promised date separate.

Hand the install lead the exact accepted quote, later changes, open checks and promises made to the buyer. Get the lead’s review before you place the job in a firm crew slot.

A signed sale can still have work to clear before a start date. This is a job handoff, not technical install guidance.

    Use the agreed version

Find the exact quote the buyer accepted. Check any later changes. The crew should not work from a sales draft or a note from a first call.

List what is included and what is outside the job. Mark the parts another trade or the homeowner must handle. Give each open item an owner.

Check whether the job is ready

A sale can be real while a start date is still open. Parts, site facts, access or required approvals may need more work.

Ask the qualified job lead which checks apply. Do not let a salesperson mark technical work ready based on a guess. Keep the person who can clear each item visible.

    • Agreed quote and changes found.
    • Equipment and scope checked by the right person.
    • Open items have owners.
    • Access plan is current.
    • Start date is checked, not assumed.

    Pass the customer promises too

Include any date, update or next step already promised. A crew should not learn about that promise from the homeowner at the gate.

Say who will tell the buyer if the plan changes. Use one contact for that update so sales and the office do not give two answers.

Say which open item blocks the start

Not every open note has the same weight. Ask the job lead which item must be cleared before a firm start and which can follow later.

Keep “accepted,” “ready” and “scheduled” as separate facts. Moving the job into one stage should not silently claim all three are true.

Ask the install lead to accept it

An uploaded file does not prove the crew has read it. Ask the install lead to flag gaps before the job is placed in a firm slot.

Keep the handoff date and any questions raised. After the job, review one issue that staff had to chase. Improve that field in the next handoff instead of making the whole note longer.
