    Southeast Electrical Services lesson

Test the lead handoff before launch: a Southeast lesson

Make sure the office can turn a new generator request into a clear next step before ads bring more work.

Before a generator campaign launches, check the request, the record it creates and the person who acts on it. A form success message or auto-reply is not enough.

Sean Kennedy at Southeast Electrical Services describes having a reply plan ready before storm demand rose. Readiness included people as well as tools.

    What the client described

Sean spoke on June 15, 2026. He says his reply plan was set up before storms drove demand. Text and email replies were ready. A team member owned follow-up.

Sean also had skilled staff. Later jobs came from referrals too. Those facts are part of the story. The reply tool alone did not do all that work.

Rehearse one request with your team

Use a made-up lead in a team role-play. Keep it out of real lead and sales totals. Show the office what the homeowner asked. Show them what the ad says too.

Who would see it first? Who would reply and book the visit? Who can answer a hard site question? Write down each gap the team finds.

    Check the first answer

The reply should name your firm and say why you got in touch. Give one clear next step. Use only the ways to reach them that they agreed to.

If you explain a likely price range, use your own checked range and its limits. Let homeowners say they do not know a site detail. The right person can check it later.

    Run this launch check

Fix the gaps before you ask for more leads. Then check real requests once ads start. Did the next step happen? An auto-reply alone cannot tell you. It is one step, not a finished sale.

    • Someone owns first contact and backup cover.
    • The team can find the homeowner’s answers.
    • The reply matches the real offer.
    • The estimator knows the visit purpose.
    • Open quotes have a next step.
    • Ads, referrals and repeat customers stay distinct.

Agree what counts as a launch pass

Use a safe test area with the page and CRM owner. Keep test records out of buyer totals. Do not trigger live ad events just to prove a screen works.

Check each layer on its own. A page can show success while the office record is missing. A record can arrive while no person owns the next call.
