Approve the whole buyer path
Check a generator website before launch
Use a short acceptance check before replacing a generator website on its existing domain. Protect page routes, forms and the way back.
Launch a generator website only when its main buyer paths, contact choices and lead handoff pass the agreed checks. Save the old version and name who can restore it if the new path fails.
This checklist is for a new version on the same domain. A domain move needs its own plan.
On this page
Name the release owner
One person should own the launch. Give them the approved pages, copy and tests. Keep late edits in that same list.
Save the current site and the steps to bring it back. Check that the owner can do this. A backup is of little use if nobody can restore it.
Check the key pages and paths
Open each main page at its real planned address. Include install, service, quote and contact pages. Test links from the header and phone menu.
Compare old addresses with the new page list. If a page moves, map it to the right new destination. Do not let old buyer links fall through the gap.
- The business name, area and phone routes are right.
- Approved copy and photos match the final pages.
- Text, menus and buttons work on tested screen sizes.
- The quote and service paths reach the right team.
- Public pages can be crawled as intended.
- Private test pages stay out of public search paths.
Protect the form and its choices
Ask the form owner to approve a safe test. Verify the receiving record, owner and next step. Label any approved test so it does not count as a buyer.
Keep the current contact choices and privacy controls. Keep the lead source details too. A new design should not change what a person agreed to.
Check the thank-you message as well as the form. It should describe the next real step.
Use a stop-or-go release note
A launch score can hide one serious fault. A working menu does not make up for a quote request sent to the wrong team.
Hold the release if the main route fails, private test data is exposed or the contact choices no longer work as intended. Give that fault an owner. A minor text fix can have a separate due date if the release owner agrees.
Check the live site after launch
Open the plain public addresses, not only the preview links. Test the old links that should still lead somewhere useful.
Save the release time, version and checks. Give each fault an owner. If the main buyer path fails, use the agreed restore plan. Do not leave that path broken.
Check search access with the site owner after the release. A successful launch does not mean Google has already processed the new version.
Watch and learn
Check the full path before launch
A clear page still needs a working handoff. Watch the checks for the form, the phone view and the person who receives the request.
