Remove friction from the request
Make a generator quote page easy to use
Check the words, fields and phone layout on a generator quote page. Make a request easy to finish and clear about what happens next.
A generator quote page should say what the request starts, let a homeowner finish it on a phone and show a clear result. Check the form and the handoff, not just the page design.
A callback request is not a booked estimate or install. Keep that distinction in the heading, button and message shown after the form.
On this page
Match the promise and the form
Read the heading, button and form title together. Do they describe the same action? A page that offers a price but ends with a callback request needs clearer words.
Say what the office will do next. Do not call a request a booked visit unless a time has been agreed.
Use the form on a small screen
Open the page on a phone. Tap each field and watch the keyboard. Can you still see the label and the next button?
Check that a person can go back and fix an answer. Required fields should be clear. Error text should point to the field and explain the fix in plain words.
Try longer names and common address formats in a safe test version. Do not use a real customer record to test the layout.
Remove things that block the task
A chat box or large banner may cover the last field. Test the page with those items open too. Keep the text large enough to read without zoom.
Do not add extra fields just to fill space. Each question should help the team take the next step. Keep contact choices clear and separate from the quote task.
Check the handoff with the page owner
Before launch, agree on a safe test plan. Check the thank-you message, receiving record and assigned owner. Mark any approved test so it is not counted as a buyer.
Save the exact page link and the issue found. A screenshot helps the builder see the problem. After the fix, test that same step again.
Write the result before you test the form
The success message should say what arrived and what comes next. Do not show it until the request has been accepted by the form service. The page owner must check the receiving record too.
Plan the failure message as well. It should say the request did not go through and offer a real way to try again or contact the office. Do not imply that failed data was saved.
Watch and learn
Give each form question a real purpose
The sample asks about the job and timing. Keep a question only if your team will use the answer.
