Hester's Electrical Service lesson
Build a clear generator service line: a Hester’s lesson
Help customers see that your electrical firm does generator work. Match the message with the jobs your team can handle.
To market generator work from an electrical firm, name the jobs you take, show real proof and give callers a clear route. Check that the team can sell, do and support that work first.
Trey Hester describes that shift at Hester’s Electrical Service. A new service page needs a real service behind it.

What the client described
In his past interview, Trey says his firm worked on new builds, remodels and service calls. It did few generator jobs. He wanted a new source of work as the building market slowed.
Word of mouth, ads and later referrals all played a part. His story does not prove that the same job mix will fit each firm.
Choose the work you want to add
List the jobs your team can sell, do and support. Name the real area you serve. Check crew skills and free time before you ask for more work.
Keep the promise clear. Do you fit new standby units? Do you service old ones too? Make it clear to the homeowner. Do not list work just because people search for it.
Show what a real job looks like
Use a job photo you have the right to share. Explain the need and what your team did in plain words. Leave out private details such as a home address.
Keep the same service name and next step on the ad and lead page. The office should use those words too. This helps the homeowner connect your electrical firm with generator work.
Check the new service line
Keep ad leads in one group and referrals in another. Both can matter. Clear notes help show what grew the new line. Do not give one source credit for every job.
- Pick the type of generator work you want.
- Check the people and hours needed.
- Show a real example with permission.
- Name the area you can serve.
- Give the office a clear next step.
- Track generator jobs apart from other work.
Check the promise from page to phone
Write a short sentence for each service you want to show. Have the office and field lead check it. If they would give a caller different answers, settle the scope before the page goes live.
Keep new installs, repairs and planned service clear. Being able to do one does not mean you take every unit or every kind of call.
