Generator ad photo checklist: choose proof buyers can read
Pick a real job photo that shows one clear point. Check use rights, private details and the final ad crop.
A useful generator ad photo shows one honest point about your work. Choose that point first. Then check the right to use the image and the crop buyers will see.
Use the final ad view, not just the large source photo. Private details and the main point can change when you crop.

Choose one honest point
You might show the crew at work, a finished unit or a tidy job site. Pick one main idea. A small phone screen gives each detail less space.
Do not make the caption claim more than the picture shows. A unit beside a home does not prove it powers every part of that home. A neat finish does not prove a savings claim.
Have the right person check that the work shown is suitable to feature. Do not use an image of a job your team would not stand behind.
Check permission before the crop
Keep the file owner and the customer’s agreed use on record. Permission for a private job file is not the same as approval for a paid ad.
Check for faces, house numbers, vehicle plates and other private details. Remove what the message does not need. Keep a safe original and record which copy you edited.
- Who took the photo?
- Which job and date does it show?
- May we use it in this ad?
- Does anyone shown need a separate check?
- What details should stay private?
- Who approved the final version?
Read it at the size buyers will see
Preview the real crop for each planned placement. Can you still see the main point? Does a button cover it? Is any text too small?
Do not add a fake badge or reshape the work to make it look better. If a staged image is used, label it where needed. Never present a made-up job as your own.
Choose between two images for a reason
Judge the photo against the claim. If the point is who turns up, a clear approved crew photo may fit. If the point is the finished work, use a view that shows that work.
A prettier picture is not always the clearer answer. Do not add arrows or badges to hide a weak link between the photo and the words.
Keep the photo tied to the message
Open the page the ad links to. It should explain the same work and next step. Save the final image, caption and source note together.
When you change the offer, check the image again. A good photo still needs a clear and truthful job to do.
Watch and learn
Use real job proof with a clear purpose
Hear a simple way to ask for a short customer story after a job. Use real job photos and share both only where you have permission.
