How to ask for generator install reviews
Use a fair, simple review request after a generator job. Get a sample note, Google's rules and a small checklist for your office.
Ask for a generator install review at a clear job-close step. Share the right link, ask for honest feedback and let the customer choose the words and rating.
Use the same fair rule for each customer. A service issue still needs help, whether or not the person leaves a review.

1. Pick the same step for each job
You could add a review link to the final job receipt. Use the same step for each customer. Do not ask only the people you think will give five stars.
Handle a fault or service issue on its own. A customer should not have to leave, change or remove a review to get help.
2. Get the right review link
Google says you can share the link on receipts and in thank-you emails. Follow the customer's contact choices.
- Open your business's Google profile.
- Choose Read reviews, then Get more reviews.
- Copy your link or save the QR code.
- Check that it opens the right business before you use it.
3. Keep the request short
Here is a draft your office can adapt. Add your real business name and review link. Use it after the work is done.
- Do not offer a gift, discount or free service.
- Do not ask for a set star rating.
- Do not give the customer words to copy.
- Do not ask them to name a staff member.
- Do not tell staff to ask for a set number of reviews.
4. Reply without sharing job details
Keep a reply short and polite. Do not post a home address, bill or private job notes.
If a review raises a fault, name the person who will deal with it. Take the job details into a private talk. Do not argue about them in public.
5. Check the process, not a star target
A review is one piece of proof. Real job photos and clear next steps help a homeowner judge you too. Keep permission to use a photo separate from the review request.
Want to check what happens before the job closes? Use the installer growth guide to look at calls, quotes and finished work.
- The link goes to our own profile.
- The same job-close step applies to each customer.
- The office knows who owns the task.
- The request asks for honest feedback.
- Service help does not depend on a review.
Skip the star screen and the repeat chase
Do not ask for a private score first, then send the Google link only to high scores. That filters who gets asked. Keep the public review choice open under the same job-close rule.
Record when the request was sent and which job it was for. Check that note before anyone asks again. Do not keep chasing a review after the customer declines.
