Generator marketing agency handoff: prepare the first brief
Prepare a small, useful brief for a new marketing team. Show what works, who owns it and what needs review.
Prepare a new marketing team with a short business brief, a tool-owner list and proof of what works now. Agree who may change each live item before a switch.
Keep passwords and private client details out of the sales brief. Use the fuller handoff checklist for access, tests and the actual changeover.

Explain the business in one page
Name the jobs you want, the area you serve and the crew space you have. List other services that need to keep running while generator work grows.
Show the main gap you want fixed. Use a recent example without exposing a homeowner’s details. “Quotes have no next owner” is more useful than “We need better marketing.”
List what already works. That may be a referral source, a good page or an office process. A new team needs to know what to protect.
Prepare a map of the tools
List each account or tool, its owner and its purpose. Note who pays and who can grant access. Use the tool’s own way to grant access. Do not send a password list.
Grant only the access the task needs. A team asked to read a report may not need to run billing or your other tools.
- Website and domain owner.
- Ad account and billing owner.
- CRM and calendar owner.
- Lead forms and phone routing.
- Source records and report access.
- Photo, video and copy use rights.
Bring proof of the present state
Save dated examples of the live ads, offer and lead path. Bring recent lead and visit counts with their date range. Mark any source or payment gaps.
The new team should see open jobs and staff duties before planning a switch. Keep contact choices and opt-outs with the records. A move must not start old texts or emails by mistake.
Name what must keep working
Give the team a short keep-working list. It may include the main phone route, booking dates, contact choices and active offers. Name the current owner for each.
For a proposed change, ask what proves it worked and what brings back the last good version if it fails. Review that answer before the live switch.
Leave with clear next steps
Ask the team what it still needs and why. Agree who may change each live item. Use one owner per shared page or campaign.
This brief is the start of a handoff, not proof it is complete. Use the full handoff checklist to plan access, testing and the switch date. Keep the working setup until the new path is ready.
