Make each call link reach the right place

Test the phone numbers on your website

Check every website phone link against the number it opens. Keep call tracking and the real call owner intact while you fix wrong routes.

Test a generator website phone link at three levels: what the page shows, what number a tap opens and which team should receive the call. A match at the first two levels is not a full routing test.

Check with the call-tracking owner before replacing a number. A tracked number can be intentional and still reach the right team.

Compare the displayed and linked numbers

On a phone, tap the number and stop before placing the call. Read the number shown by the phone app. Compare it with the page.

If they differ, ask why before you make a change. The site may use a number set up to track calls. That alone is not a fault.

Ask the person who owns call tracking to confirm the setup. Do not replace tracked numbers across the site without that check.

    Write down the intended route

Sales calls and service calls may reach different teams. Note which route each page should use. Check the office’s phone list.

Look for old numbers in image banners and saved page sections too. A number printed inside a photo cannot be fixed by editing the text link.

Test live call routing only by agreement

A call link alone does not prove a person will answer. If a live check is needed, agree on it with the office first.

Use a named test and a clear time. Do not pose as a buyer or add a fake lead to the sales list. Record what the test can and cannot prove.

    Check again after the fix

Reload the public page and tap the repaired link. Test both the header and the mobile call button if they are separate.

Keep the before and after row. Mark who now owns the route. Use this check when the phone system changes. Use it when the team or site changes too.

Check every version of the same call choice

A header link, phone-only bottom bar and image banner may be separate items. Fixing one does not prove the others changed. Keep one row for each place a buyer can tap.

If a tracked number changes by visit source, ask the owner which versions to check. Preserve that setup and its consent rules. Do not force every visit to show one number to simplify the sheet.
