Watch the task on a real phone

Check your generator website on a slow phone

Try your generator website on a phone away from fast Wi-Fi. Find delays, moving buttons and blocked tasks before you chase a speed score.

Check a generator website on a real phone by trying one buyer task, such as finding the install page and opening the quote form. Record what blocks the task before chasing a speed score.

Use the same public link a buyer sees. A fast office laptop or a narrow desktop window can miss phone problems.

    On this page

    Start with a simple task

Ask a teammate to find your install work and reach the quote page. Do not tell them where to tap.

Note what appears first. Can they read the heading while images load? Does a button move as they try to press it? Does a large video hold up the useful part?

Use a safe place with a steady connection for the check. You need a fair comparison after the fix, not a test that changes with every step you take.

Record what gets in the way

Write down the page, phone and connection used. Save the time of the check. A short screen recording can help the builder see a shifting button.

Keep private details out of the recording. Stop before you submit a real form or place a call.

    • Text shows up before the large media.
    • The page fits the phone without side scrolling.
    • The main button stays where it first appears.
    • The menu opens and closes.
    • The form labels remain easy to read.
    • A banner does not cover the next step.

Use a speed report for clues

Ask your site owner to run PageSpeed Insights for the same page. Use its findings to guide the repair. The report and your phone check answer different questions.

Google says a good score alone does not promise a top rank. Do not strip out useful facts or proof just to chase a perfect score.

    Retest the same path

After the change, repeat the task on the same phone and connection where you can. Check that the fix did not break a menu or image.

Save the before and after notes together. Mark what improved and what still fails. A desktop window made narrow is useful too, but it is not the same as this real phone check.

Know which speed result you are reading

PageSpeed Insights can show real-user history and a lab test. The lab simulates a visit under set conditions. Real-user data comes from past visits on many devices. The two can differ.

Use the lab to help find a fault. Use the same phone task to check the repair. Neither one proves how every phone will work.
