One page job, one clear title

Write clear page titles for generator dealers

Give each generator website page a title that matches its job. Use a small title map for installs, service, job stories and quotes.

Write a generator page title with the page’s main job, a real area where useful and your firm name. Make it match the page. Give installs, repairs and job stories their own clear titles.

A title is a promise about what opens next. It should help the right buyer choose, not repeat every service and town you know.

    On this page

    Write the page job first

Open each page and write one line about its purpose. Is it for new installs, service help or a quote request? A title should follow that choice.

If one page tries to do all three jobs, settle its purpose before you change the title. More words in the title will not fix a confused page.

    Make a small title map

Use your actual business name and area. The examples below are blank patterns, not titles from a real dealer.

Match the title to the page

Google recommends clear titles for each page. It may use more than one part of the page to form the title you see. The title you set may differ from that result.

Read the main heading and the opening text. Do they support the title? Remove claims such as same-day work if the page and crew cannot support them.

Use the town only when it fits the page. Do not add a year just to make an old page appear fresh.

Check a weak title against a stronger one

Use this made-up pair as an edit test. The stronger title names one need. The page still has to answer that need.

    • Is the main service clear without the brand name?
    • Does the first page heading support that service?
    • Is each place name true for this page?
    • Have you kept claims the crew can meet?

Check the result after the edit

Have the site owner save the title in the right field. Open the public page and check the browser tab. Keep a list of the old and new text.

Search results may take time to change. Your first search may still show the old title. That alone is not a reason to edit it again.

Later, review the actual queries and page clicks in Search Console. Use a fair period and note other site changes. A new title alone does not prove why a number moved.
