Generator ad and landing page check: keep one clear promise

Check the promise from ad to page to first reply. Use a five-point match test before more buyers arrive.

    By SwiftSocial3 min read

Match a generator ad to its landing page on five points: work, area, offer, proof and next step. Then check what the form actually completes.

A request for a call is not a booked site visit. Use words that fit the real path from the ad to the office.

    On this page

    Write down the ad promise

Copy the exact claim from the ad into a private review sheet. Include the image or video. What would a new homeowner think they will get?

Look for words that need a condition. “Fast install,” for example, needs a real basis. If the crew cannot support the claim, fix the ad rather than hide a caveat below the form.

    Compare five things

Open the linked page without using your admin account. Read the first screen, the form and the next-step note.

    • Work: is it the same job type?
    • Area: are the same towns or limits clear?
    • Offer: do price and terms agree?
    • Proof: does it support this exact work?
    • Next step: does the form do what the ad says?

    Try a buyer’s path

Here is a made-up mismatch. An ad offers an estimate for a standby install. The page says “Book now,” but the form only asks for a phone number. No visit slot is booked.

The fix may be to say “Request a call about an estimate.” Then explain that the office will check the job and arrange the right next step. Use that wording only if it matches the real flow.

Test the approved preview path. Check which inbox or lead record receives the request. Keep test data marked and out of business results. Do not fire live sales events just to make a report look active.

Check the final screen as well as the form

Read the thank-you message. Does it say a request was received, a call was booked or a site visit was set? Those are different facts.

Keep the confirmation tied to the real result. Do not let a button label or page view stand in for a booking.

Give the office the same version

Share the final offer with the person who answers. They should know what buyers saw and which answers the form already holds.

Save a dated set of the ad, page and first-reply brief. When one changes, check the other two. This is especially useful when a seasonal offer ends.

A better match does not guarantee more sales. It gives the buyer a fairer path and makes the next problem easier to find.

    Watch and learn

Match the ad, page and next step

Watch the path from the ad promise through the form and the human handoff. Check the same job and next step at each point.
